Diesel is €1.60, the government take €1 out of that but Varadkar said they will definitely not be dropping fuel tax

It’s one of the major talking points outside of covid around the country. People are completely fed up getting fleeced at the pumps with fuel prices seeing petrol around €1.70 and diesel around €1.60.

The government takes a whopping €1 out of both prices. The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has announced that there is no way the government will be lowing fuel tax, claiming that they’d rather increase wages and welfare payments to meet the standard of living.

However, many people are blaming the government and in particular the green party’s Eamon Ryan for his “blatant hatred towards motorists”.
