A woman in her 40s has been arrested after a violent altercation broke out at protest against austerity cuts outside the Dail.
The woman was eventually escorted away by gardai after a crowd of 200 turned nasty as barriers were erected to stop them gaining access to Leinster House.
The crowd started trampling over a disabled woman who got caught up and fell on the ground.
The gardai say they now have the situation finally under control.
