Police in Birmingham have identified a 12-year-old kid who was tragically stabbed and described as “lively and happy,” reports Sky.

Leo Ross passed away in a hospital on Tuesday night, just after 3 p.m., after being discovered hurt close to Scribers Lane in the city’s Hall Green neighbourhood.

Diane Henson, the executive headteacher, called his passing a tragedy.

Ms Henson said: “Leo was a lively and happy young man. He had many very good friends who he absolutely adored, and they adored him,” reports Sky.

“He was just a lovely and bright member of the school community. We’re supporting the children at school and are opening a book of condolence with the family’s permission, reports Sky.

“Our thoughts are with Leo’s family and all his friends today.”

In remembrance of Leo, dozens of his school pals left cards and flowers close to the assault site.

His initial name was also spelt out with candles on the ground.

A handwritten note attached to one tribute read: “RIP Leo Ross. We will miss you loads. Our lives won’t be the same without you. You will always be the kindest. Fly High Leo. You never deserved this ever,” reports Sky.

Another tribute read: “Fly high Leo. You will be deeply missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers,” reports Sky.

Also, a message said: “To Leo. Rest in peace you sweet soul. You didn’t deserve this angel,” reports Sky.
