Discount retailer Poundworld on the brink of collapse, as 100 workers are let go from head office with immediate effect

The fate of discount retailer Poundworld is almost sealed, after 100 workers from a head office in Yorkshire were let go with immediate effect.

Poundworld entered into administration a week ago, and hopes to find a buyer have all but vanished.

The retailer employs about 5,000 people across the UK. All these jobs are likely to disappear in the near future unless a buyer is found at the eleventh hour.
