Gardai are investigating an alleged
assault on a 10-year-old boy by a middle aged man after an altercation when the boy was playing football.
The incident happened in a park
in Drimnagh, south Dublin. The boy had a row with another boy when they were playing football. With that, a middle aged man ran over and punched Brandon Kelly as hard as he could in the jaw.
The little boy had what was described as a ‘huge shiner’ on his cheekbone. He was practically knocked out and lay motionless on the green. Brandon’s friends ran over to his house and informed the boys mother.
They called the gardai who advise that Brandon be taken to the hospital. He had 3 x-rays. What was initially suspected as a broken jaw, ended up luckily being severe swelling.
Lindsay Kelly contacted the Herald newspaper to get her story attention. Gardai are investigating.
