A 12-year-old schoolboy had to be airlifted to hospital earlier today, after an alleged assault carried out by two boys.
The incident took place in the town of Ennistymon, Co. Clare. It is understood that the teenager sustained head injuries, allegedly inflicted by two young pupils from a different school in the area.
He was rushed to hospital by ambulance helicopter, where his condition is described as ‘serious’ but not life-threatening.
