Members of the Dublin Fire Brigade attending the scene of a large bonfire blaze at Basin St. reportedly came under attack by a mob of youths, who threw stones and other missiles at the men.
The fire itself caused disruption to the Luas red line. A statement on the Luas website said: “There is no service between Heuston and Blackhorse stop.”
Luas trams are currently only operating from the Point to Heuston and from Blackhorse to Tallaght or Saggart.”
It is understood that none of the firefighters were injured during the incident, and that Gardai were called in to deal with the youths.
