Gardaí in Co Wexford have begun an investigation after an elderly man on crutches was attacked by two men in New Ross on New Year’s Eve.
It is understood the elderly man was attacked as he was making his way through the SuperValu car parking between the Quay and South Main Street.
Gardaí say they are currently hunting for two men who immediately fled the scene in a car.
It is believed that the elderly pensioner was left badly shaken by the incident and was attended to by passers-by a short time after the sickening attack.
