A pregnant mother and her young family are being reduced to sleeping in their car in Navan Co Meath after their home was destroyed by a blazing fire last weekend.
The woman Mandy Ellis, her partner Ray Ward and their 13-year-old daughter Megan managed to escape the blaze which broke out near their home at Connolly Avenue in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
Gardai are currently investigating the fire and are urging anyone with any information to contact them. Ms Ellis told reporters about her ordeal, in which she said she was refused emergency accommodation from Meath County Council as she does not want to return to the house when it’s repaired.
