Jenkins, from Main Road in Portavogie, was due to be sentenced yesterday after a jury unanimously convicted him of two charges of rape and two of indecently assaulting one girl and a single count of indecently assaulting another girl on various dates between January 11, 2006 and September 1, 2008.
During a two week trial in June, the court heard how the thug made the girls, as young as 12 at the time to perform sexual acts on him before he raped them.
As he was getting dragged to the cells in handcuffs, he was overheard saying to his now 21-year-old victim, who developed anorexia as a result of her ordeal, “your time will come b***h.
He was ordered back to the court where defence QC Kieran Mallon said his client had told him he had actually said “satisfied now birch” but prosecuting QC Ken McMahon said both the police officer and Jenkins’ victim heard precisely what the thug said.
Judge Piers Grant said in the Downpatrick courthouse that he will sentence the rapist next week and that he will also deal separately with what he said to his victim. He said it was “completely reprehensible and I intend to deal with it as a serious matter”.
