Disgraceful: Tourists are spotted taking selfies on the beach of Tunisia beach tragedy

The Tunisia tourist board have come in strong criticism this afternoon after they have allowed tourists to take disgraceful selfies on the beach where an ISIS gunman murdered 38 people on Friday afternoon.

It is understood that a number of holidaymakers are attending the beach in order to take disrespectful pictures with friends and family at the scene of the horrific massacre, some tourists have even been smiling in photographs taken at the place were the dramatic events unfolded on Friday.

The disgraceful news doesn’t stop there however as a British Labour MP candidate has been seen on the beach taking selfies. The news has angered many throughout the world with a large number of people voicing their disgust on Twitter.

One Twitter user wrote: “People taking selfies and smiling at the murder scene in Tunisia, should be ashamed of themselves.” Whilst another wrote: “Morons taking selfies in Tunisia – how low can humanity go?”, while another said: “Crass & thoughtless of those grinning idiots taking selfies on beach in Tunisia where so many people lost their lives.”

The British Labour party candidate Amran Hussain, aged 29, was spotted by the media taking selifies with friends on the beach is understood to have witnessed the horrific scenes of unfold before his very eyes a short time before he decided to take photographs.

However Mr Hussain has since defended the his picture, saying he spent a long time paying his respects at the crime scene before taking the photograph.

Mr Hussain said: “On Saturday morning we went to show our respects to all the innocent people who lost their lives.”My friends and I walked silently from our hotel to the site with a bouquet of flowers, where together we laid them down with others’ tributes, then held hands and took a moment to pray for all those who fell victim to the terrorist attack, their loves ones, and all those who may be affected. “We also prayed for all the locals and their families who will likely be badly affected by the lack of tourism for the foreseeable future, we wished them all the best.

He added: “We took a few pictures to share with the world to show that we care about and love the country and its people, and that we did go out to the site to show solidarity and support, and in defiance to the terrorists.”
