GardaĆ­ have launched an appeal following an alleged assault on a student by another student during a school lunch break in Co Donegal, reports Breaking News.

The incident took place around 1.30pm near the Market Yard in Ballyshannon last Friday.

GardaĆ­ report that the student was approached from behind and struck multiple times by another student, reports Breaking News.

The victim required urgent transport to Sligo University Hospital for care.

GardaĆ­ have stated, however, that the injuries sustained are not life-threatening, reports Breaking News.

A Garda spokesperson verified the event occurred during lunch break and indicated belief that another student was the perpetrator.

They are urging anyone with potential footage of the incident to reach out to them.

“We appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with GardaĆ­ in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530. Should anyone have travelled in that area with a dash-cam around that time, we ask them to please make the footage available to us,” reports Breaking News.
