Donnelly: Up to 100,000 Ukrainian people will be given medical cards and social welfare, including the dole

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly said that Ireland will do all that it can to accommodate up to 100,000 Ukrainian refugees who are leaving the Ukraine and heading towards Ireland.

It’s understood that they will not have to do anything official in relation to their stay for up to 90 days.

It’s now also been confirmed that all 100,000 Ukrainian refugees will be given a medical card and that they’ll be fully entitled to all social welfare, including the dole.

Many people feel that the Irish homeless community should be facilitated before anymore people come into the country. That may not happen however as the government say that they are considering building accommodation for Ukrainian refugees on State land.
