Ukraine crisis: Ukrainian military scores second Russian General, morale reportedly ‘low’ among Russian troops as casualties and losses mount

Ukrainian troops have reportedly scored a second Russian General, with morale running ‘low’ among Russian troops as casualties and losses mount.

Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, first deputy commander of Russia’s 41st army, was killed on Monday, according to Ukrainian sources. Gerasimov was a highly regarded officer and veteran from the Chechen war, the Russian intervention in Syria, and the invasion of Crimea. His death is yet another severe blow to the rapidly faltering Russian offensive in Ukraine.

Always according to Ukrainian sources, over 11,000 Russian troops have become casualties since the start of the campaign, with most people cheering at the damage inflicted by a seriously outnumbered and outgunned Ukrainian military.

Analysts are now starting to believe that the Russian people will likely turn on Vladimir Putin, whose thirst for conflict has plunged the country into a downward economic spiral that will crush the population, while thousands of young Russian conscripts die on the battlefield for nothing.
