Don’t get sick in Ireland – 10,000 HSE staff are due to go on strike around the country tomorrow

If there’s one place you don’t want to get in, it’s the entire country of Ireland after talks broke down again between SIPTU representatives and the HSE.

Tomorrow’s planned strike action is to go ahead with 10,000 HSE support staff being left with no option but to take to the streets.

It’s understood that both parties failed to reach an agreement at the Workplace Relations Commission this afternoon.

Although it was hoped that Wednesday’s strike action would be called, representatives say it will go ahead as there was no agreement in terms of the introduction of job evaluation scheme.

It is not yet known how the strike will effect hospital’s across the country, but it is expected that a number of appointments and services may be cancelled.
