There has been absolute uproar on social media after it emerged that UK authorities are strongly considering sending convicted child killer Jon Venables abroad to keep his identity secret.

Although no destination as been mooted at this time, many on social media believe that Ireland could well be a chosen country given its close ties and proximity to the UK.

It’s understood that the cost to keep Venables’ new identity a secret are going through the roof.

Venables, along with Robert Thompson, was convicted of the brutal killing of two-year-old toddler James Bulger in 1993. Both Venables and Thompson were just 10 at the time.

Both men were incarcerated for the crime and released on life-long licences when they turned 18, after much legal wrangling. Thompson vanished into anonymity, but Venables has re-offended at least twice and sent to prison, according to the terms of his licence.

Authorities have for years struggled to maintain Venables’ true identity secret, and the costs of doing so now rank in the hundreds of thousands. Therefore, he may be sent to live abroad, so Great Britain can wash its hands off him.
