Dublin has come out on top once again after a well known publication voted the capital’s new year’s festival (NYF) as one if the best places for a winter trip for 2015/16.
The magazine National Geographic says the city’s festival, which commences on 30th December and finishes on January 1st, “will be bigger and better” than last year’s annual event. The world renowned magazine also recommend that visitors to the fair city should enjoy the many sights on offer and stay at the Dean Hotel and enjoy a drink in Lillie’s Bordello. The travel guide also suggests that tourists take a shopping trip in Nassau Street’s Kilkenny Shop.
The recent news was welcomed by Noel John McLoughlin of Fáilte Ireland who says a place on the list is a major boost to the NYF festival. Mr McLoughlin told reporters: “This accolade is proof that Dublin is competing with other cities when it comes to celebrations and we look forward to welcoming international visitors to Dublin once again this year.”
