Dr Tony Holohan has says social distancing measures won’t stay in place for longer than necessary but we must not become complacent

The Chief Medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has said the current social distancing will not be implemented for longer than necessary, but warned that the country must not become complacent.

Speaking to reporters said the public should stay the course and follow the current restrictions set out by the Government.

Dr Holohan also said that we mustn’t take our foot off the gas as it would ultimately lead to us losing the good progress we made.

He added that assessment will be made in regards to social distancing and restrictions next week.
