
Two men have lost their lives in separate road traffic incidents in Longford and Galway over the past 24 hours.
A man in his 60s died after a single-vehicle collision at Tyrur, Newbridge, Ballinasloe, Co Galway earlier this morning, reports RTE.
The crash happened at approximately 9.45am.
The man, who had been driving the car, was declared dead at the scene, and his body was later taken to the mortuary at Portiuncula Hospital, reports RTE.

No other injuries were recorded.
Gardaà have urged any witnesses to come forward, and are also asking road users with camera or dash-cam footage who were in the area between 9.30am and 9.50am to share it by contacting Ballinasloe Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line, reports RTE.
Meanwhile, a man in his 80s has died after being struck by a vehicle in Longford town.
Emergency services and gardaà responded to the incident, which involved a car and a pedestrian on Earl Street at around 10am yesterday, reports RTE.
The injured man was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he passed away later that evening.
Gardaà have appealed for information and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, reports RTE.
They are particularly seeking road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, and who were in the area between 9.45am and 10.15am yesterday, to make this material available to investigators, reports RTE.
