
GardaĆ in County Donegal had to use a stinger device after a suspected drunk driver ignored orders to stop at a checkpoint.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in the village of Burnfoot, reports Breaking News.
Officers were conducting a crime checkpoint when the situation unfolded.
Despite being directed to halt, the driver did not comply, prompting gardaĆ to deploy a stinger to disable the vehicle, reports Breaking News.
Upon breath testing, the driver was discovered to be five times above the legal alcohol limit.
The car was impounded and the driver is now facing multiple charges, reports Breaking News.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Never take risks when it comes to road safety. Never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” reports Breaking News.
