Drogheda celebrates as the 2019 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann comes to a close




The town of Drogheda is celebrating yet another successful year as an estimated 500,000 people attended the 2019 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

In what has been described as a successful week for the town many locals will begin the cleanup this morning as this year festival brought record numbers.

Following on from 2018’s highly successful event, Drogheda was given the opportunity to showcase Ireland’s much loved music and dance festival.

Amongst the many Irish acts to perform at this year’s event, acts from around the world descended on the Co Louth town to show their talent.

Its estimated that over half million people attended this year’s festival which in turn generated in the region of €40m for the local economy.

The festival which has been widely praised by locals and tourists alike will be held in Mullingar in 2020 and 2021.
