Police in the North have confirmed that four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Co Antrim over the weekend.
It is understood the arrests come after a man aged in his 40s was assaulted before being hit by a car in Armoy, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police investigating the incident say the man who was left with serious head and facial injuries was attacked outside a pub on Main Street at approximately 1am.
It is understood that the man was then struck by a car that mounted the pavement before the suspects fled the scene.
Officers investigating the incident say the four men were subsequently arrested a short time later after their car was found on the Coolkeeran Road, in Ballymoney.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
