A proposed new drug injection centre in Dublin has once again been delayed after concerns were raised over its operation and over concentration on services in the area.
According to RTE News, Merchants Quay Ireland have been informed that they have to submit a detailed management and policing plan for the new centre which treatment options for recovering drug addicts.
The centre which has caused outraged amongst residents of a local community has been rejected planning in recent over concerns of its impact in the community.
Many feel that centre will make the drug use issue problem in area worse and given that a school is a nearby such a centre would be ill-advised.
However Dublin City Council have said they will consider proposals as long as the centre can provide adequate policing kind the area and prove there is not over concentration on other services in the area.
