Dublin Airport Authorities concerned that more “drone activity” could happen again

Dublin Airport was on shut down for half an hour yesterday as it was forced to suspend all its flights after a drone was spotted near its airfield.

All flight operations were suspended due to a confirmed drone sighting over airfield with authorities taking immediate action.

Dublin Airport posted on Twitter: “For safety reasons we are temporarily suspending flight operations at Dublin Airport due the confirmed sighting of a drone over the airfield.

Passengers should contact their airline’s website for flight updates.”

Passengers at the airport posted on social media that their airlines say that some flights resumed quite quickly with all the schedule back to normal within 30 minutes.

Dublin airport authorities are now concerned that further drone activity could happen again with airport police allegedly searching cars in the well-known plane spotting lay-by where plane watches park up and watch planes take off and land.
