Commuter chaos looms in Dublin, as bus services around the city will not run this Thursday or Friday.

Last service will run at 9pm tomorrow evening, and all vehicles will lay idle for 48 hours after that, in the opening salvo of an all-out strike at Dublin Bus.

In the wake of the revelations, the National Transport Authority has confirmed that the company faces fines to the tune of €200,000 for every day of industrial action.

The total cost to the company is estimated to be around €600,000 a day, even taking into account that drivers’ pay will be docked.
