Galway, Dublin and Cork have been voted the friendliest cities in the world by readers of Travel and Leisure magazine. Galway came in first place in the magazine’s annual reader survey, with Dublin coming in 3rd and Cork taking 4th place.
Last week, Dublin was voted the world’s second-friendliest by readers of another US travel bible, Conde Nast Traveler.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, welcomed the news.”Again and again, our research shows us that the friendliness of our people is one of our unique selling points. It is the warm welcome and the ‘craic’ here that resonates with our overseas visitors and makes our cities, and the island of Ireland, such a great choice for a short break or holiday.”
