Dublin shooting victim dies in hospital

A 53-year-old man has died in hospital this evening, after being shot a number of times in Dublin earlier today.

The man was named locally as David Douglas. It is understood he was shot a number of times in the head and upper body. It is also believed that the victim had survived an assassination attempt last year.
