A Dublin teenager is $50,000 richer this morning after he competed at the Fortnite World Cup in New York.

The teenager Joshua Juliano, 17, or “lolb0om”, took home the pretty sum after he finished in 58th place in the overall tournament.

The remarkable achievement is further heightened by the fact that Joshua made it to the 100 place final after 40 million players battled it out to reach Sunday’s final.

Although the overall winner was a teenager Kyle Giersdorf, Bugha from Pennsylvania, Joshua guaranteed himself a sum of $50,000 after making it to the final 100.

The championships which has been dubbed the largest and richest esports tournament ever saw the winner take home a staggering $3m, whilst second, third and fourth place also became millionaires on the day.
