The DUP leader Arlene Foster has been named female politician and at an awards ceremony in the UK.
Foster was given the prestigious honour at the Asian Voice, Political and Public Awards.
Accepting the award from UK Labour MP Keith Vaz, Ms Foster said that she was looking forward to strengthening ties between India and Northern Ireland in the coming days.
Ms Foster now joins a list of high profile previous winners including former British Prime Minister David Cameron and Civil Rights Leader Rev. Jesse Jackson.
