Finally it looks like there’s a glimmer of hope in the air and maybe, just maybe the summer will arrive.
The May Bank Holiday will bring plenty sunshine and settled conditions, with little or no rain, according to the national forecaster.
Temperatures will remain slightly lower than average for the time of year, topping at 13 or perhaps 14C, but the dry and calm conditions will make up for that.
There will be plenty rain in the meantime though, with frequent showers developing around the west this afternoon, and spreading eastwards as the day goes on.
Today and tomorrow will see a mixture of sunshine and showers. However the weekend is en route!
