While the government were crushing Irish businesses and infringing on the most basic rights of Irish citizens with Orwellian measures that just at the start of the year would have been unthinkable they were also allowing 190,000 people to fly into Dublin Airport from Covid-19 hotspots in one month.
Transport Minister Eamon Ryan admitted to Social Democrats co-leader Roisin Shortall during Parliamentary Questioning that nearly 192,000 flew into Dublin Airport from places such as US, Europe and beyond in a four week period between September 7th and October 4th.
Many thousands more entered the country through other airports and ports in the country during the same time frame.
This is despite the warnings from the government that these countries were hotspots for the Chinese virus and the fact they were persisting and reinstating Draconian measures to supposedly halt the spread of the virus.
Now as the government consider even harsher lockdown measures if we do not behave ourselves it has also been revealed that thousands of people continue to fly into the country every week.
