Eammon Ryan will breathe a sigh of relief this evening as he will remain as the Green Party leader following a narrow victory.
Ryan managed to hold on to his position after beating Catherine Martin 994 to 946.
The result comes after party members were balloted on Wednesday evening.
Speaking following the results, Ryan said he remains committed to the party and will do his upmost to help the Irish people during this difficult time.
