The Minister for Communications Eamon Ryan has said that a helpline will be set up for those affected by the recent HSE cyber attack.
Speaking in the Dail, Ryan said the Government will set up a helpline for those who have been approached and told that their personal information is going to be published online.
Ryan told the Dail that the line will provide those affected with clear guidelines on what they should do if they have been approached.
He also says that the helpline will give the Government an indication on what is being shared online.
The Communications minister added that the Government has already been in contact with social media companies over the sharing of information online.
Ryan told the Dail that the Government has requested that companies not to share information that may have been published online.
