Following a disastrous result in yesterday’s General Election, which has seen the Labour party all but wiped out from politics in Scotland, party leader Ed Miliband has resigned as party leader.
He has said that he takes “full responsibility” for the crushing defeat of his party, and has offered his apologies to Labour heavyweights Ed Balls and Jim Murphy, both of whom have been obliterated from their seats overnight.
Miliband added “Britain needs a strong Labour Party, Britain needs a Labour Party that can rebuild after this debate so we can have a government that stands up for working people again.”
