Latest reports show that sensors on board the doomed Flight MS804 detected the presence of smoke in multiple locations around the plane within a short span of time, shortly before the airliner fell from the sky.
Officials have said that, while it’s still too early to tell the reason why the aircraft came down, data seems to point towards a sudden, catastrophic event that caused the plane to break apart in mid-flight, immediately killing or incapacitating the crew, hence the absence of a distress signal.
Satellite data revealed that the aircraft suddenly veered left and right and flipped upside down before vanishing from radar screens.
The last contact with air traffic control occurred minutes before the the aircraft disappeared, and the pilot was said to be ‘in good spirits.’
Search teams located the wreckage on Friday last. There were no survivors.
