Search and rescue teams have located the wreckage of the missing EgyptAir Flight MS804 near the Greek island of Karpathos, it has been confirmed.
The aircraft, an Airbus A320 with 66 souls on board, had disappeared from radar screens early this morning after a series of sudden and erratic maneuvers.
Minutes before vanishing, the pilot had contacted Greek air traffic control to say that they were entering Egyptian airspace. There was no indication of anything abnormal at the time.
However, a mere three minutes later, the aircraft executed a series of wild turns and departed controlled flight, plunging to the Mediterranean Sea below.
The sudden nature of these maneuvers seems to indicate foul play, rather than a technical fault.
