An elderly couple aged in their 80s have been left badly shaken after they were tied up and robbed at their home in Co Louth.
According to LMFM, the couple who are aged in their 80s were left badly shaken after they were threatened with a hammer, a knife and a hatchet by masked men at their home in Blackrock.
It is understood the terrifying attack occurred when two masked men believed to be aged in their 20s broke into the house on the Rock Road at approximately 8pm on Tuesday evening.
Although thankfully the couple weren’t injured in the incident, it is believed that the woman was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following the incident.
Gardaí say the men fled the scene in the couple’s car with small quantity of cash.
Although the car was later found abandoned on the Seafield Road a short time later.
Gardaí say investigations into the incident is currently ongoing.
