An elderly woman has been hospitalised after sustaining a serious injury following an attack on Bank Holiday Monday.
According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the 89-year-old was left needing hip surgery after she was attacked the Kilnamanagh Shopping Centre, on the Mayberry Road in Tallaght.
It is understood the woman injured afer she was dragged alongside a car when two men attempted to rob her handbag.
The shock incident occurred at 11am on Monday morning, and Gardaí say they are investigating.
The Irish Mirror say the woman was taken to hospital shortly after the incident and it is believed that she requires surgery on her broken hip.
