Elderly woman killed in terrible crash at Dublin car park as gardai issue appeal

An elderly woman has passed away after being hit by a car in a busy car park in south Dublin, reports The Mirror.

Gardaí and emergency crews responded to the scene following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at a car park on Castle Villas in Dalkey at around 4:30pm on Sunday, July 13.

The victim, a woman in her 70s, was taken by ambulance from the scene to St. Vincent’s Hospital with critical injuries, reports The Mirror.

In an update, a Garda spokesperson confirmed the woman sadly died from her injuries on Thursday, reports The Mirror.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and gardaí are asking any witnesses to come forward.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision that occurred at a car park on the Castle Villas street, Dalkey, Co. Dublin on Sunday 13th July 2025 at approximately 4:30pm. The collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was conveyed to St. Vincent’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced deceased today, Friday 17th July 2025,” reports The Mirror.

“Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Anyone who was in the Castle Villas street area on Sunday 13th July 2025 between 4:15-4:45pm and who may have any information is asked to contact investigating Gardaí. Likewise, anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available,” reports The Mirror.
