Authorities in Australia have confirmed that an elderly woman has died after receiving the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to The Daily Mail newspaper, the 82 year old woman reportedly died within less than three hours after receiving the vaccine at Blue Care Yurana Aged Care Facility in Springwood, in Queensland.
Although it is not yet known what caused the woman’s death, it is reported that the woman had an underlying condition believed to be a lung related illness.
Police investigating the incident say they are currently awaiting a coroner’s report and they are unable to provide any further information at this time.
