The outgoing Tanaiste has claimed that hers is the only seat secure in the upcoming election, thus joining the also outgoing Environment Minister Alan Kelly’s delusional and self-absorbed world.
Labour are today continuing their sisyphean struggle to keep their re-election hopes afloat, but are facing steep uphill battle to win anything close to the 37 seat they scraped together back in 2011.
Speaking in Newstalk today, the Tanaiste said “It is really the month of living dangerously and you have to be very robust and very tough”.
“On certain issues, Fine Gael has converted, yes, to the Labour Party view – they now accept that the USC was a second income tax and that its reform is a vital part of our recovery in the future.”
When pressed, she did admit that no seat is safe in the upcoming election, but when asked about her own, she said: “Absolutely.”
