There was controversy in Co Kildare last night as a Fine Gael TD stormed out of a public debate after he reacted angrily to a member of the publics question regarding his windfarm policy.
The Fine Gael TD at the centre of the storm Bernard Durkan, originally from Co Mayo, did not cover himself glory following his disgraceful actions at a conference organised by the North Kildare Environmental Protection Group at the Hamlet Court Hotel in Johnstownbridge.
During the heated debate which centred around the prevention of the establishment of windfarms in the county, Mr Durkan who was fighting in favour of introducing windfarms gave an aggressive response to a member of the audience who accused Fine Gael party of having shares in windfarms.
Mr Durkan then proceeded to storm out of the conference when he was continuously questioned by the audience member about having a financial motive for introducing the farms. The Fine Gael TD was then cheered and verbally abused as he exited the conference.
