Elective surgery and outpatient services cancelled at UHL due to massive overcrowding

Elective surgery and outpatient services have been cancelled at University Hospital Limerick due to massive overcrowding.

It is understood that no fewer than 111 patients were on trolleys or scattered around wards waiting for admission.

The facility has been plagued by overcrowding for years, with little being done about it.
