Electric Ireland customers set to experience more costly bills as the company confirms 4% price increase




There was bad news for Electric Ireland customers this week a the company said try are to increase prices in early 2018.

The company say the latest price hike which is likely to in the region of 4%, comes as a direct result of increased wholesale energy costs.

It is expected the price hike which will affect customers across the country will come into effect in February 2018.

The latest hike is likely to see the average customer spending an extra €3 per month on top of their bill.

Although Electric Ireland have apologised for the increase which they have labelled as unavoidable, the company have reassured struggling customers that they will be entitled to the 5% hardship reduction.
