Embarrassing: As Theresa May mourns Grenfell Tower, the first thing Leo Varadkar does is joke about “Love Actually”

In what can only be described as an embarrassment to the Irish people, Leo Varadkar made his first overseas visit to the UK and cracked a badly timed joke to kick things off.

The newly “elected” Taoiseach, not by the actual people of Ireland, met Theresa May in 10 Downing Street.

Mrs May was commenting about the absolute tragedy that fell on the victims of the Grenfell Tower inferno in west London.

But it’s not just London, the entire UK is angry, sad and confused about the Grenfell nightmare.

Theresa May addressed the press about it with a noted somber tone.

Then low and behold our “elected” Prime Minister jumps in like a schoolboy and declares it’s his “first time in 10 Downing Street and it’s rather a thrill”.

“I was reminded of that famous scene in Love Actually where Hugh Grant does his dance down the stairs” leaving some journalists laughing and others looking at each other in disbelief that he wouldn’t mention the Grenfell Tower initially.

Many on social media claim the new Taoiseach is “smug” after his comments that he’ll represent people “who get up early”.
