End-of-summer travel chaos looms, as Ryanair pilots in the UK vote overwhelmingly in favor of strike action

Trouble is brewing at budget airline Ryanair, after pilots in the UK voted overwhelmingly in favor of strike action.

The move comes amidst an ongoing row over pay. It is understood that the ballot was passed by a majority of 80%.

Unless a solution is found, pilots will walk out for 48 hours on August 22-23. If the conflict escalates, three additional stoppage days are planned, from Monday September 2 to Wednesday September 4.

The airline may yet be thrown into further chaos, as Ireland-based pilots are due to vote on a similar move this Friday.
