English actress Barbara Shelley, famous for her roles in Hammer films, has passed away aged 88.
The ‘Queen of Hammer’s career flourished throughout the 1950s and 1960s as she played roles in Hammer horror movies such as The Gorgon (1964), Dracula: Prince Of Darkness (1966), and Rasputin: The Mad Monk (1966).
Later in her career, Shelley appeared in the TV series The Saint, and even Eastenders, where she played the role of Hester Samuels.
Shelley recently contracted Covid-19 but recovered from it. She died from health complications unrelated to coronavirus.
