Former Taoiseach appointee and current Tanaiste Leo Varadkar signed two new Bank Holidays for Ireland into law late in 2021.
The dates will be March 18 this year and February 6 in 2023.
The March 18 date has turned St. Patrick’s weekend into a four-day long extravaganza this year with many people said to have booked a trip away to mark the special occasion.
