Enoch Burke’s father may be jailed for allegedly assaulting garda in court

The father of imprisoned teacher Enoch Burke is charged with assaulting a female garda in the course of an event at the Four Courts last year, reports RTE.

Sean Burke, of Cloonsunna, Castlebar, County Mayo, appeared at Dublin District Court before Judge Catherine Hayden.

He is charged with attacking Garda Victoria Fisher on March 7, 2023, at the Four Courts.

The event supposedly happened the day his son Enoch was facing a court case at the Court of Appeal about his termination from Wilson’s Hospital School in County Westmeath, reports RTE.

Burke is charged under section two of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, which is handled only by district courts because it is considered a minor offence.

A conviction carries a potential six-month prison sentence and fine, if he is to be convicted, reports RTE.
