ESB crews are continuing to work this morning in order to restore power 1,700 homes and businesses.
In an announcement made late last the company said crews are continuing to repair power lines that were damaged during the high winds caused by Storm Hector.
Although the ESB say they hope to have power to most homes this morning, they have warned it may take sometime to restore power to all homes by the weekend.
It is understood counties Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan have been the worst affected by power outages.
The company also reminded the public to extra care whilst traveling and they have warned the public not to approach any fallen power lines.
